The Bug Barrier is an adhesive non-chemical barrier for the control of Gypsy Moth, Tent Caterpillar Larvae, Cankerworms, Winter Moths and other insects.
Developed with a university entomologist and tested extensively in both northern and southern climates, the Bug Barrier Tree Band effectively controls climbing insects.
The simple design is easy to install and remove. The band can be installed in five minutes or less. It doesn't stain bark, is harmless to touch, and doesn't crack, break or slip, even in extreme weather.
The Bug Barrier Tree Band consists of a dense, flexible fibre barrier that is wrapped around the trunk to fill bark crevices, and an adhesive film installed over the fibre to trap the pests. The inward-facing adhesive is unique as it increases the band's effectiveness by keeping the sticky surface free from debris that can form a bridge for the pests that follow.
The Gypsy Moth Barrier Model is specifically designed to deter the Gypsy Moth. The added top wrap protection allows the more aggresive gypsy moth larvae to easily go down a tree, but not return up the tree. When it tries to return up the tree, it is completely trapped in the exposed fiber trapping material.
