Dry Compost material can also be spread by this large hoppered unit. Broadcast pelletized compost with the Earthway High Output Spreader Model number 2130 to condition your soil or treat existing ground crop or turf. Compost improves soil structure, provides nutrients for plant growth and increases organic matter content. Broadcasting is commonly used on established stands of grass. Nutrients once discarded can be reintroduced to the lawn. Recycling in Landscaping!
Apply compost when top dressing during cool moist periods to the established turf when the grass is in a period of growth. (Spring or fall is normally best) Most composts, being dry, light and bulky, are easily distributed with this spreader.
Top Dressing with compost is one of the most environmentally responsible turf care methods. Topdressing also helps to level the surface of lawns making the grass more even and appealing. The organic process of top dressing the yard or playing field with compost, humus or top soil is a natural landscaping process that will make your lawn green repair lawn and turf areas.
Landscaper's tip: A drag mat can be used to easily work the compost into the lawn and when required break up aerator plugs, perfecting the distribution of the compost.
Note: You will need a drill in order to install the deflector. Check the spacing on your deflector to be sure that the holes go in the correct spot.
