ST. CATHARINES HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY
PRIME TIME GARDEN TOUR

BY BRUCE ZIMMERMAN

Every year many different Garden Clubs and Horticultural Societies hold Garden Tours.  These are usually fund raisers for good causes or are for operating funds to continue the good work that these organizations do.  The Garden City Horticultural Society (St. Catharines) is no exception.  They held their Prime Time Garden Tour on Sunday, August 12th, 2001.  Included in the tour was a draw for door prizes and a photo contest. The Photo Contest was sponsored by Frederick's Photo & Studio 2 Lakeshore Rd.  The following is just a sampling of the fifty plus sponsors and prize donors: Broadway Gardens, Vine Floral, J.C. Bakker & Sons, Grantham Home Hardware, Niagara College Horticultural Program, Stokes Seed Ltd., Swiss Chalet, Stone Church Winery,  Pillitteri Estate Winery, Reif Estate Winery, Thirty Bench Wines, Marineland, Avondale Dairies, and Wimpy's Diner.

Here are just a few of the pictures I took on the tour.

I would like to thank all the participants in the Prime Time Garden Tour for all their hard work and the pleasure that I and so many others derived from our afternoon in these eight gardens.

I hope that these pictures will encourage you to put your little corner of paradise on your local garden tour.
