April Showers...well, you know the rest...
It seems that it is anything goes in
April----weather wise, that is for certain. Here in Southern Ontario we have
experienced a wide range of temperatures, leading to "plant
confusion". Blooms are everywhere! The planting bug has replaced the flu
bug. Yard work has taken precedence over most indoor activities.
Alan
Ilagan
It is now time to check what winter damage has occurred. One of our
readers, Alan Ilagan has a wonderful tale of unlikely survivors, entitled "
Plants of Glory". It is a tale of weathering obstacles ---winter weather,
unexpected storms or simple neglect. Every year he awards one plant in his
garden an imaginary award for Best Comeback! ---an unexpected joy.
Bruce
Zimmerman
In some cases, there might not be an
effective alternative to pesticides, for many others there are choices of
alternative weed and pest control methods and devices. Bruce talks about a
few of these in this timely spring article.

Duffer
April Article
Scientists have discovered that
the average man thinks about sex about once every 30 seconds...do you really
think so? I've asked around and it seems that the census is right! Wow, who would have ever imagined---talk
about being pre-occupied! Duffer has a whole article devoted to this
thought and the communication between the sexes.
