Welcome to Hort-Pro

Welcome to summer!!!

It's a hot one in southern Ontario today. As the official first day of summer, June 21 st marks the longest day of the year. But, before you head to the beach....print off some good reading material....

Wes Porter has a great lineup of Gardening in the Headlines, a round-up of the past few weeks news of interest to gardeners. The topics span a wide range of appeal, and cover almost everything under the sun, from travel, to science, law and weather.

Wes also contributes an article "The Garden Web" that lists dozens of useful websites (tune up your gas lawnmower) , as well as horticultural happenings, in and around the GTA.

A July Special Feature from Wes: When the Saints come marching in  . The paragraph that caught the eye of the females in the office was about the unique fund raising website set up for ocean education by the Georgia Strait Alliance in B.C. Check it out!!

Bruce Zimmerman has written a timely article on the benefits of Container Gardening. Suggestions of types of containers, what to plant, how to water and feed your plants, and  aide in helping gardeners add a new element to their garden.

And then there is ...."the Duffer"...  this month, mothers take the heat. For anyone who has had their cherished collection (hockey cards, comic books, etc.)  thrown out or sold at a garage sale, this article is for you!

Enjoy !
