Welcome to Hort-Pro

Welcome the 4th Spring edition of the Hort-Pro.   It's hard to believe we've been actively doing the Internet thing for that long.

This spring we are pleased to welcome Miriam Goldberger to our list of writers.   Miriam is the President of Wildflower Farm, a leading wildflower nursery, natural landscaping company and pick your own flower farm.  Her article is about - you guessed it - growing wildflowers.  We met Miriam at Canada Blooms, where she had a beautiful guitar shaped  garden showing visitors what one can do with just different grasses.

In addition, there is Wes Porter's installment of City Gardening with the latest on bulbs, lawn care and this spring's hot topic - mosquitoes.  Here in Ontario, even the threat of SARS has not kept West Nile Virus out of daily media reports.

On a lighter note Duffer, a.k.a. Ian Robinson, ponders the joys and downfalls of insomnia and late-night weightlifting.

I love taking a walk through the yard every evening, the day to day changes are amazing as flowers and grasses get greener and taller.  From all of us at  Rittenhouse, we wish you luck in the annual spring multiple choice quiz   - it that a weed or a perennial?

Late Edition to the Hort-Pro

Bruce Zimmerman's timely article on controlling mosquitoes.
